Is it regular to have data types in a separate dll? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a parser of special XML files as a dll. It can parse different data types from the file.

    Data types look like

    public sealed class StationInfo
        {
            public string ServerId { get; set; }
            public string ServerName { get; set; }
            public string ShortcutName { get; set; }
            public string ExpressCode { get; set; }
            public string FullName { get; set; }
            public string RailCode { get; set; }
        }

    The are many data types such as above. So this dll contains many specified logic as well as many data types.

    The problem is that the solution I work on have several projects that need these data types also. I don't want to reference to Parser dll because this is not logical to reference to business logic when I need only data types (I think so).

    Is it regular to have data types (only data types) in a separate dll?
