Exchange 2010 SP3 Upgrade Failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

I'm trying to upgrade Exchange 2010 on SP2 or 3 but I'm getting below error.

Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: An Active Directory error 0x51 occurred when trying to check the suitability of server 'Server.Domain.Com'. Error: 'Active directory response: The LDAP server is unavailable.'

    I have 3 DCs

    PDC 2003

    ADC 2003

ADC 2008 R2, All FSMO Roles are on 2008 R2.

Exchange 2007 SP3 is in place with 1 Exchange 2010 box which is working fine.

Please help me in this regard.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi

Can you ping your DC from your exchange server?  On exchange 2010 can you run the following from your EMS, what does the results give you?

    Get-ADServerSettings | fl

  • If you run the upgrade from an elevated prompt does it give the same error? The account you are using to run the upgrade, is it part of the domain, enterprise and schema admins groups?
