Is there any difference between direct uninstallation and through power shell? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a App package through VS 2013 using create app package wizard and installed it through power shell on developer machine(side loading). In my app i am setting permission to lock screen access and updating live tile.

What i have observed is, when i directly uninstall(by right click and selecting uninstall) my app than on re-installation it shows me the items which i updated last time on live tile and for lock screen access it won’t show the dialog again.

But when i do it through power shell, than no such thing happens and every things work fine.

So, wants to know the reason behind the difference in these 2 ways?

Whether i will face this problem after submission of app to App Store? If i install this from store and uninstall it by right click, the problem will be there or not?

    Please help.

    Regards, Rahul Jaiswal

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
