Installing metro apps for all users in system

    Question

  • I'm using add-appxpackage to install an app as one user. But when another user logson (who is also an administrator), that user cannot see the app.

How can I do it for all users? Also my steps are:

    1) Build an image with metro apps installed using user1

    2) Sysprep generalize it.

    3) user2 builds their system based on that - sysprep specialize.

User1 can see apps, but user2 cannot.

All of this is in VMs.

  • Metro applications are always per-user installations. Presumably there will be some information as part of the Enterprise story on how default apps for a user will be configured, but there is no information available on it currently.

  • Hello,

in addition to what Andy mentions, the sideloading topic at the following link might be of interest

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh852635.aspx

along with the add a LOB app to a Windows image in the same link above.

    much appreciated,
