Database mail

Question
-
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2016-12-01T16:55:11). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (The operation has timed out.). )
Why am I getting this error?
How shoud I resolve it?

That would indicate DBMail was unable to access your SMTP server.
I would start here:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188663(v=sql.105).aspx

Hi saravana raj,
Are you already configured email account, profile, operator (if applicable) and changed SQL Server Agent Alert System tab?
are you using a relay server? ping it?

From SSMS connect to your SQL Server, expand Management, right click Database Mail and attempt to send a Test E-Mail.
Display SQL Server Agent Properties, click Alert System and ensure you've configured the Database Mail correctly.
Please click "Mark As Answer" if my post helped. Tony C.
