Code Coverage Coloring RRS feed

  • Question

  • Disclaimer: I've read the other posts about this issue, but they haven't provided a solution.

I have a problem with the code coverage functionality in VS, namely that the code isn't colored based on test coverage.

When I go Tools > Options > Environment > Fonts and Colors there is no Display item called Coverage (as I understand there should be).

In the Code coverage result pane, pressing the Show color button (or whatever it is called) does nothing, there's no coloring.

I've tried running devenv /resetuserdata from a command prompt (Start > All applications > Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 > Visual Studio Tools > Developer Command Prompt for VS2012) but it had no effect.

I've also tried resetting by Tools > Import and Export Settings... but that didn't work either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the coloring working?

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Through Tools->Options->Fonts and Colors, you can try to find the Coverage color setting based on my picture below:

If still no help, I doubt that the issue is related to your VS. I suggest that you try to repair it or uninstall it and then reinstall it to check the result.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Like I said in the OP I cannot see any items for Coverage under Fonts and Colors. If they were there, there wouldn't be a problem in the first place..

I've tried repairing and re-installing VS, but that didn't help.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

  • I am still running into the same exact issue, even after trying all of the same steps you have. Were you able to fix the issue and see the options within Options -> Font and Colors, or the coloring for code coverage?

    Thanks.
