  • You can convert your PDF to MS World using Office 2013 or Office 2016 and then edit it in the word.

  • Hi Jon,

    Please check the steps below:

    1. Add the xml below in "\Web Server Extensions\15\Template\XML\DOCICON.xml".

    <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.gif" OpenControl="AdobeAcrobat.OpenDocuments"/>

    2. In Central Administration, set "Browser File Handling" to "Permissive" in Web Application General Settings.

    3. Execute the following PowerShell code:

    $webApplication = Get-SPWebApplication "http://webapplication/"

    $webApplication.AllowedInlineDownloadedMimeTypes.Add("application/pdf")

    $webApplication.Update()

  • Thanks, Dennis.

    I followed your instructions and restarted the site.  After opening the PDF and filling it out, I click the Save button but I get an Adobe Reader error message "The document could not be saved.  A file write error has occurred." I am not seeing anything in the ULS logs giving me more details, nor am I even able to locate an error log for Adobe Reader.

    Is there something else I can try or can you point me in the right direction to track this error message.

    Thanks,

    Jon

  • Hi Jon,

    Please try to use Fiddler or other tools to monitor the "Save" button click, and check whether have some requests about access SharePoint or not. And then check the requests or responses detailed information.
