  • what device object will be created with destination string "\\" ? what will be the device name?

    RtlInitUnicodeString(DestinatonString, "\\");
    IoCreateDevice(Driverobjct,0x108u,&Desinatiionstring,0x8773u, 0x100u, 0, &DeviceObject)

  • I haven't seen anyone try this in a long time.   Year ago Windows would return an error indicating a name conflict since "\\" is the object directory which already exists.

    Can you give me an example or tell me little bit so i understand what you mean ?

  • It would be exactly the same as trying to create a new file called "C:\" in user space.   The file exists as the root directory of the C disk, so it cannot be created.
