Disable right-click menu on Win CE7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to disable the right-click menu? When the users see the desktop, they are able to press the screen for a few seconds for the menu to appear but I do not want to give them that option.

I saw a way to do it in Win7 but could not find how to do it for WinCE.

  • You can create your own shell to offer the exact experience you wish.

  • In my registry I see that I have no entries in:

Can I add the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoViewContextMenu and set the DWORD value to 1 to disable like in other Windows OS?

  • You certainly can add anything to the registry if you are creating the device. What happens when you try?  I assume you have tried and this does not work?

  • Yes, I tried and unfortunately it did not work. Any other suggestions?

  • Just my original one. If you want a shell that does not behave like the Windows CE Shell, you should replace it with a shell that meets your requirements.
