User Scope ConnectionString RRS feed

  • Question

  •

In VS 2005 I found that if I copied my app.config file, deleted my connectionstring, pasted the app.config back to the way it was and reopened my project that the connectionstring scope would now be user instead of application which allowed me to change it during runtime.

Now with 2008 I can no longer make a connectionstring's scope user.  Does anyone have any idea's on this.

    Thanks in advance

  • I'm not exactly sure how you are changing the connection string but wouldn't it be easier to use the DataDirectory macro instead to return the path to your database file?
