GET-DirectoryTenantid "This environment is not configured to do ADFS authentication" - Disconnected setup. have I missed something? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed AzureTp3 is "disconnected mode" so hence no reliance on AAD.

now uless I've missed something, I'venot seen anything about configuration of ADFS - is that done automatically or is this something I need to do?This is coming to light as I try to run through the document on how to set up Azurestack and run through all of the features - the part I am on at themoment concerns setting up MSQL database as PaaS.

Running deploymysqlprovider.ps1 requires amongst otehr things, the tenant Directory ID. I'm not able to get this.

So question is, how to I check ADFS is set up or how do I get it set up as it is oibviously not set up at thsi point in time.Persoanlly not finding the documention about ADFS in this new disconnection mode easy to find / workout.

  • Hello Andrew,

The following command will setup your AzureStackAdmin ARM endpoint and get your ADFS TenantID.

    ### Set AzureStackAdmin ARM Endpoint and Get Tenantid

    Add-AzureStackAzureRmEnvironment  -Name "AzureStackAdmin" -ArmEndpoint `

    #Get the ADFS Tenant GUID

    $Tenantid = Get-DirectoryTenantID -ADFS -EnvironmentName AzureStackAdmin

    # Sign-in Admin to AzureStackAdmin ARM Endpoint

    Login-AzureRmAccount -EnvironmentName "AzureStackAdmin" -TenantId $TenantID

NOTE:  Take note of the value set for EnableAdfsAuthentication in the output from the

    Add-AzureStackAzureRmEnvironment command.

    It should read:

    EnableAdfsAuthentication  : True

Make sure you have the Azure RM, Azure Stack and AzureStack-Tools/Connect modules loaded before running the script.

    Use-AzureRmProfile -Profile  2017-03-09-profile

    Import-Module -Name  AzureStack -RequiredVersion  1.2.9

    Import-Module -Name  AzureRM -RequiredVersion  1.2.9

    Import-Module .\Connect\AzureStack.Connect.psm1
