Has anyone ever gotten WinDbg USB 3.0 kernel debugging to work? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I got a DataPro USB 3.0 A - A crossover cable, I plug it in to my target machine (which is running Win10 x64 and supports xHCI 3.0 debug) and plug it into my host machine (running Windows 10 x64 and supports xHCI) and I don't see a USB device pop-up on either machine.  It should right?  I don't know if this is a cable problem (just got it) or if USB 3.0 debugging doesn't actually work, or I have a port problem.  My target, viewed in USBView, shows several ports that support 3.0 debugging and say that they are user connectable, and when I plug in a SuperMUTT device, it shows up on one of those ports.  So, I unplugged the SuperMUTT and plugged in the debug cable, but nothing shows up on the port, whether I have the other end of the cable plugged into my host or not.  Any advice?  Thanks!

  • Nevermind, just about the time I posted this, I figured it out.  Port madness.  Cable is good and it connects!!
