OWA autocomplete migration from 2010 to 2016 server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there a way to copy, export or migrate the autocomplete list from OWA 2010 to OWA 2016

Note: Users are not using the Outlook desktop client, they only use OWA

    Thank you

  • That AutoComplete list for OWA is held in a Folder Associated Item in the Non_IPM_Root folder of a Mailbox with a ItemClass of OWA.AutocompleteCache  in the XMLStream property. So its possible to access this with EWS or MAPI however you may find entries in the list for users within the organization are using the EX format so may or may not be valid if you try to import them to another Exchange org etc. I'd suggest you first take a look using something like mfcMapi https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/deva/2014/08/21/mapi-how-to-programmatically-get-autocomplete-cacheentries-for-owa-2013/ . You could also use something like this to export it https://gsexdev.blogspot.com/2013/10/exporting-suggested-contacts-owa-auto.html

    Cheers

  • Useful information, but it works through Outlook client, my problem is we do not have Outlook desktop client and we do not use it, we use OWA only so I can not connect to it to export the autocomplete as explained in the first link

    Thanks
