  • Question

  • Hi everybody,

    I'm facing weird problem after I installed

    SQL Server Standard Edition with sp1

    Visual Studio 2012 Professional

     when I started SSIS 2012, after moving Execute SQL Task (Script Task, Expression Task) to the Control Flow window and trying to edit the component, error pops up

    ===================================

    Cannot show the editor for this task. (Microsoft Visual Studio)

    ===================================

    Value does not fall within the expected range. (mscorlib)

    This issue we are facing on 3 different machines (same problem). Does anyone know how to fix this, because we need SSIS urgently.

    Thanx in advance

  • Hi Miodrag,

    Do you create the packages in the SQL Server Data Tools shipped with SQL Server 2012 SP1 which uses Visual Studio 2010 shell or in Visual Studio 2012? If the later, it seems that the Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012 is not installed correctly, and you can try reinstall it.

    If the former, it may be the factor that the Microsoft Visual Studio for Application Tools are not installed property. Please install both the VSTA design-time and runtime located in the \X64\redist\VSTA directory of your SQL Server 2012 SP1 installation folder.

  • I think there is a compatabuilty issue in VS2012.

    Do this: install SSDT 2010 that came with the SQL Server Std. Use it only.
