Java SDK license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I just wanted to get clarification about the licensing for the Java SDK that Microsoft supplies for the Bing Ads API.

The Bing Ads Client Libraries page (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/bing-ads-client-libraries.aspx) has a link to the "Bing Ads Java SDK License" at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/bing-ads-java-sdk-license-agreement.aspx.  This license says it's an evaluation license only and does not grant the user the right to use the code in production.

However, on the GitHub home page for the SDK (https://github.com/bing-ads-sdk/BingAds-Java-SDK), the LICENSE file that is in the actual project front and center on that page indicates that there are basically no restrictions whatsoever.

I'm thinking/hoping that the license on the GitHub page is the actual license, but I would like verification from Microsoft, as we're about to start a big project with Bing Ads to get a lot of our clients that are running AdWords onto Bing as well, and we don't want to invest a lot of time into this, only to find out that we can't use the SDK in production.

  • Hi Greg. Please feel free to use the SDK within the terms and conditions of the license provided here on GitHub. MSDN will be updated to address the inconsistency. Thank you!
