How to set different shared test variables for different enviroments RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    Im developing a set of unit tests that we want to run on different target enviroments. For each of these enviroments the tests needs to connect to similar databases, but with different connection strings.

    Dev01 - > connect to devDb01

    Dev02 -> connec to devDb02

    Test01 -> connect to Test01/instanceA

    This means that each test needs to be test aware (im running in this enviroment) and I need to use this set of test variables(connection strings, etc)

    I would expect that the xxx.testsettings and TestContext should be able to provide that information. But I have failed to find any way to store and access these data.

    What is the better practice for handling this very common scenario ? (btw, im running on a vst2010 premimum) so it could just be a feature im missing, but after "bing'ing" for days I have been unable to find any example besides a vst 2005 test plugin implementation.
