OAuth 2.0 login support? RRS feed

  • Question

  • This article references that support for OAuth 2.0 support would be coming for POP and IMAP in Office 365. I'm aware that the web API for Office 365 already supports this but I will need to be able to log into the mail servers directly. It does seem that is advertising XOAUTH as an authentication mechanism already but obtaining tokens via the linked documentation in the above article only results in failed authentication attempts.

So what I would like to know is if OAuth 2.0 is supported as login mechanism for IMAP in Office365 via yet or not? If so, would someone please point me to documentation on what servers and scopes I should use to obtain tokens for it?

I'd like to make clear that I have a solution working with GMail, so it's either a matter of configuration or obtaining tokens. Also, I did try the Live API as well but for whatever reason I can not login with my Office365 test account there so that does not work.

    Thanks in advance.
