Update every time .NET is installed

  • I have a PC with very limited bandwidth here at home. Why is it every time I install .NET, I must download updates? Actually, I'd really rather not download anything. At all. There should be an intermediate option between "Download" and "Cancel installation", something along the lines of, "I don't have a usable Internet connection so just use the files I already downloaded."

In fact, I find the whole, "Changes to Windows features" thing to be incredibly annoying. How do I turn off Windows begging for my permission every time a program wants to sneeze?

  • DeadMG,

Are you using the Windows Developer Preview?  Did you download a particular .NET program that caused this or is it just any .NET program?
