SSMA for MySQL does not support conversion of this statement RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I am trying to convert a MySQL query to SQL Server this is the query

    ALTER TABLE `settings` ADD `name` VARCHAR( 15 ) DEFAULT 'ME' NOT NULL ;

    I am getting this error message : SSMA for MySQL does not support conversion of this statement

    The error message is very clear but I thought this is quite a straight forward query I was just wondering is there any workaround for this or is the ability for the conversion of ALTER TABLE queries coming in a later update. Thanks in advance!!

  • Hi Blair,

    What's the version of your SQL Server, MySQL and SSMA?

    Did you forget to convert the schema?

    You can refer to this reference how to convert MySQL queries to MS SQL queries: http://php.dzone.com/articles/converting-mysql-sqlserver-queries

    Hope this helps.
