  • Question

  • Can't seem to get docker installed on my Windows server 2016 essentials installation.

The version I'm running is 14393.1198.amd64fre.rs1_release_sec.170427-1353.

Is it not possible to install containers on this version or is there something I am missing?

  • Hi There,

Please use the following link Part 2: Deploy Docker On Windows Server 2016 don't use part 1 of the article.

When you run the cmdlets use Run as Administrator.

    Hope it will work.

  • That is what I've been trying from the start, that error shows up when following that article.

  • Containers are not available in Essentials.  Windows Server 2016 Standard and Datacenter do support containers, as detailed here.
