Does anyone know if phones are intelligent enough to automatically resize images if the original image is larger than the screen?  Or any alternative solution that doesn't require me creating an a different image size for each phone?

Blackberry's are smart enough to resize the image before it is downloaded, but not all smart phones are.

That being said, there is a neat control in the control gallery (that's free) That does dynamic image resizing so your image can fit various device profiles. Check it out here:

After posting I did find that control yesterday and tested it and the quality was really poor.  The image was all pixelated and looked absolutely horrible.  Anyone else experience this?
