To which folder are Intellisense search paths relative to? (Nmake)

    Question

  • I have a Nmake project and use Visual Studio as IDE. So far I can only get Intellisense to work if I specify the Intellisense search paths as absolute.

How does Intellisense handle relative paths?

    Best!

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

Could your please tell me how did you create the Nmake project in Visual Studio? And where to specify the Intellisense search path?

If possible, please share us a screenshot of this. In addition, I found a document about "To enable IntelliSense for makefile projects in the IDE"

  • Hi Lake,

I am using Scons to generate VS Projects, which is a tool that allows creating VS solutions easily. The only problem I found was that Scons created relative paths for IntelliSense Include Search Path. Hence IntelliSense was not working when editing on the IDE. Changing them manually to absolute paths fixed the problem.

    Here's a snapshot : http://s31.postimg.org/58247nniz/intellisense_NMake.png

Note that the signaled relative paths are the same that are used for building via cl.exe.

So the question is, can Intellisense Search Path field contain relative paths? If so, which folder are they relative to?

    Thanks and best regards!
