Can the same master page layout be used for other sites in sharepoint 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey all,

Can we use same master page layout for two different sites?

Let say I have website( Let it be A), Its has customized master page, and now I am creating a new blank website( Let it be B) and would like use same look and feel of other master page? Is this possible? If yes how would I move forward.

    P.S

    A isn't the parent site of B

    Regards

    SP.D

  • Hi SP.D,

I would go to the Master Page Gallery of site A (via Site Actions, Site Settings), then hover over the custom master page and click on the drop-down menu. Select "Send To" and "Download a copy".

Then go to Site B and upload the copy to its Master Page Gallery. Make sure it's published, if applicable. You can then use SharePoint Designer to apply it. If you want to use it as the new default master, follow the instructions at this link:

    Best wishes,

    Eric
