How do I get into the codes in Designer VB 2017? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I transferred my project from VB6 to VB 2017, and it has loads of errors that I must debug. How can I get into the codes in Designer so that I can correct the field names?

In VB6, there was an option to make command buttons, Cmd(0), Cmd(1), Cmd(2), etc.

In Vb 2017 it translates as Cmd_0, Cmd_1, Cmd_2 etc.

In the codes in Designer, I have to make the above changes to the existing command buttons and field names.

How do I get into the codes in Designer?

  • Hi Moshe,

Based on your description, do you want to transfer your project from VB6 to vb.net? If yes, if you want to get into code in Designer, please take a look the following code:

Open the Solution Explorer --- Toolbar at the top there is a tool Show All Files --- Click on that tool --- All of your Form files will now have an arrow beside them --- click on that arrow to expand --- Look for the code file named FormName.designer.vb ---Double-click on it to open
