How to covert Windows Server 2013 evaluation to full version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am having issue with converting windows server 2012 standard evaluation to fully licensed version.

Couple of weeks back I have installed and configured Windows Server 2013 standard evaluation version in production environment thinking that it can be converted to fully license server by adding private key brought from retail shop.

Unfortunately unable to covert evaluation version to full version with the key. We’ve are not in position to remove evaluation and install complete version.

Could you please assistance in resolving the issue without losing data on evaluation and make it as full version.

    thanks

  • Hi,

From an elevated command prompt, determine the current edition name with the command DISM /online /Get-CurrentEdition. Make note of the edition ID, an abbreviated form of the edition name.

Then run DISM /online /Set-Edition:<edition ID> /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula, providing the edition ID and a retail product key. The server will restart twice.
