RDLC file as XML in DataBase RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi every body

My issue is: I have reports (RDLC) files I need to generate reports in different business layers and connection is one way, so I need a solution to make RDLC design and changes in one layer and work in two layers as same.

I think to save RDLC file as XML in DataBase ??

    Thanks ..

  • Not sure what you need here. If you want to make programmatic changes to the RDLC file, then you'll need to manipulate the XML itself.

If you're talking about whether you can load RDLC files from database, the answer is yes. You will get the XML however way you can and use LocalReport.LoadReportDefinition() to load the XML into ReportViewer. See There's a sample in the sample environment that shows how to load an RDLC from a stream, which is the same idea as yours.
