SSDT - Visual Studio 2019 Preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    you stated that SSDT supports Visual Studio 2019 Preview. I just installed a vanilla Visual Studio 2019 Preview but it's not working.

    Could you please fix that ?

    I mean SSDT is a great tool besides:

    - Installer is a mess. Already had difficulties with VS 2017 (which version runs ? which does not ?).  Each Update of VS is a thrill - not knowing whether SSDT will work afterwards. If that could be fixed, that would be really awesome.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Don't really agree with Ale-Bro, but in the case of the installation of ssdt for vs 2019 preview, the installation failed with the following error description. First attempt was without an internet connection, the second with. Both failed.

    I have vs2017 and since last night vs2019 preview installed.

    Setup Failed

    The requested metafile operation is not supported (0x800707d3)

    Hopefully there's a fix for this issue.

  • @Olaf Helper:

    The Installation of SSDT for Visual Studio 2019 Preview.

    I get the same setup failed message as David does.

    @David STL:

    Well, there was a period of time where VS got frequently updated and once you updated, it might have happened that your SSDT did not work anymore. ;)

    Anyway, would be great to see SSDT for Visual Studio 2019 Preview !! :-)

  • SSDT only comes out 1.5 years after a Visual Studio release. You should keep Visual Studio 2017 installed well into the year 2020 if you want to continue using SSDT
