Run SQL Server Setup with 'As Admin' option

Question
-
Hi,
For a user with local admin rights, is there any difference to run SQL setup As Admin vs runnig the setup without this option? I read somewhere in the past that we should never run the setup with 'As Admin' option, I am installing SQL with 'As Admin' option and never face any issue, do you know a case when this could generate an issue or this is just a myth ?
Best regards

The "run as admin" option ensures that the account you are logged in as has administrative rights which some installations require, even though you may be a local admin on the server at the same time. I have done many installations of sql server where I was only a local admin on the server and not used the "run as admin" option with no issues. Having said that, running the install with the "run as admin" option (even though not explicitly required) ensures that the install is being with the highest authority which can never be a bad thing.

Administrator account is highly privileged, I installed SQL server setup file with the administrator option many times without no issue. Don’t worry about it.
