VS 2005 - MSDataSetGenerator not in Properties? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hello,

I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
    Version 8.0.50727.42
    Microsoft .NET Framework
    Version 2.0.50727

    Installed Edition: Professional

When I create a new Dataset (Add New Item, DataSet) I notice that I do not have the "Custom Tool" MSDataSetGenerator in my Properties.  Furthermore, only a .xsd and .xss file is generated.  There is no .cs file created.

I have checked the registery settings and there are entries for the MSDataSetGenerator in there.

    Any help would be great!

  • Actually, I managed to fix this about an hour ago.  I did an upgrade to VS 2005 SP1 and changed from a web project to a new web application.  Seems to be working now.

    Thanks!

  • Not sure what could cause this yet. It could be an installation issue or some files corrupted.

What happen if you manually input the MSDataSetGenerator in the Custom Tool?

Does it make the code generation happen?
