Haha. Can't find things on technet when google can RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was trying to find out some info about windows clustering services. So, I went to technet and did a search for "cluster"

Result: "We're sorry, we couldn't find any results containing cluster"

Using google to do a search for "cluster site:technet.microsoft.com" reveals 4,770 results.

    C'mon guys.

  • I poked fun at MSFT search technology once or twice.  It stops being fun when you have to use a site that isn't indexed by Google, like connect.microsoft.com.  But that would be off-topic for this forum.

Back on topic: there are now multiple places to post community content.  I've posted a whole heck of a lot of Windows Forms and BCL bug workarounds on this website.  As of recently, I have yet another option, the MSDN library now allows community contributions.  Three choices now: MSDN library, Product Feedback, MSDN forums.  Which should I choose?

  • Hmm, I see over 200K results for "cluster" on TechNet.  Could you attach the TechNet Search URL  you used?  I used this one:

    http://search.technet.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?brand=technet&query=cluster

For where to post what, here's the heuristic I'd use:

Got a bug or suggestion for a Microsoft product? http://connect.microsoft.com/

Got a question that needs an answer?  http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/

Have a useful note or short code sample, related to a particular page of documentation? Add it to the "Community Content" section on that page.
