How to change empty grid caption ("No items") RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a html client, whenever a query return zero results, the default grid control shows a constant caption with the text "No items". I can't find how to change that text to another constant (i.e. "No rows").

    Could find only one similar solution that involves postrender code and promises, but it doesn't work, the js code throws and error.

    BTW, I am very surprised with the extremely limited documentation of lightswitch on the internet, is LS dying?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Diego,

    The literal string is contained in the 'msls.lang-en-us.resjson' resources file:

    "listView_no_items": "No items",

    2.5.0.js', one for tables, one for listviews. You can change the resource string in the deployment package or at the standard place here: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\LightSwitch\v4.5\Client'.
