Error when creating GDFMaker project - index (zero based) must be greater than or equal to zero and less than the size of the argument list

    Question

  • Hello,

I´m trying to create a GDFMaker Project, but when I press OK after set the name and location I get the error: index (zero based) must be greater than or equal to zero and less than the size of the argument list. Then I press OK and the Project is closed.

I already have the latest version of Windows Development Kit, I tried to find in other places the solution but I couldn´t find anything.

    Could anyone help me?

    Thanks,

    Murilo.

I download the June 2010 Directx SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6812) and then I used the GDFMaker.exe from folder C:\%Program Files (x86)%\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Utilities\bin\x86 instead from Windows Kit folder.

  • I am also getting this error, not only on trying to create a new project but loading an existing project created by a colleague at Microsoft.

Using the June 2010 version of GDFMAKER.exe is not an option due to the ratings updates in the Windows 8 version.

  • It is a bug in GDFMaker.exe.  Details posted in this other thread.
