Hyper-V virtual machine Performance Counters are zeroed after renaming the VM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day. I ran into this issue at work and I can't find any reference of it as a known issue.

Created Hyper-V Virtual Machines "test111" and "testcc".

Deleted "test111" and renamed "testcc" to "test111".

When checking the WMI class for Hyper-V CPU performance with:

    Get-WmiObject Win32_PerfFormattedData_HvStats_HyperVHypervisorVirtualProcessor -Namespace "root\cimv2"

We got mostly zeroes (I can't attach screenshots yet):

    • Name: testcc:Hv VP 0
    • PercentGuestRunTime: 0
    • PercentHypervisorRunTime: 0

This issue goes away after restarting the Hyper-V server.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Is this a known issue or am I just missing something basic?

    Thanks for your time.

    J. Nunez
