  • Yes it should be possible. Do you get some exception when trying to connect to SQL Server 2012 using .NET 2.0?

  • There is no reason it should not work even you use SQL 2012 specific feature set . How are you planning to connect to SQL server 2012? You can use any of below provider to connect to SQL Server 2012.

      • NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server (SqlConnection)
      • SQL Server Native Client 11.0 OLE DB Provider
      • SQL Server Native Client 11.0 ODBC Driver

One of my present applications in .net 2.0 is connected to SQL server 2012 with NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server without any issue. Let us know if you have any concerns.

  • I am going to set-up a WSFC with SQL Server 2012 using Availability Group model whereby I create a Availability Group listener.

I wonder if the current application developed with .net framework 2.0 can connect to SQL Server 2012 via Availability Group Listener?
