What happens with a Power Query query after moving from Power Pivot to SSAS? RRS feed

  • It's a quite common scenario to migrate a Power Pivot model to a SSAS tabular model. I'm wondering what happens when Power Query is used as a data source to the Power Pivot model. Is it still possible to refresh data through the Power Query query, and how does it work? I'm not aware of SQL Server components that run M scripts...

  • Hello Michiel,

    Both Power Query and Power Pivot are addins for MS Excel, so client based Tools, while SSAS is a Server based solution. Here you have to find an other way then Power Query to import the data, e.g. with SSIS (Integration Service) with a DWH or to load it directly into SSAS database.
