Desktop UI - New Metro Theme

I was wondering if there were any plans to make a new Metro Theme. You could keep Aero as an option as well. I saw a concept on theverge.com that really blew me away and wanted to share it on here.
Here is one of the pictures from the post:

I think it would be great if the desktop could get some metro love as well. Also can't W8 for Win8.- Changed type Marilyn-Support EngineerMicrosoft Support, Moderator Sunday, February 26, 2012 5:31 PM Change type to discussion

There are a lot of discussion about metro style and I suggest take a look at following post about idea behind metro-style design in Windows 8:

You could also follow Windows 8 blog for more update about future plan about metro style.

When I thought that Microsoft will use Metro/Zune theme on Win8 initially, I was thinking of the above screenshot.
I don't like the task bar on the above pictures... but the rest is just awesome. It's a shame that Win8 desktop mode isn't like this. It's kinda too late now, as the public beta will be out... unless there is a massive "hate the desktop look" movement going on, it won't change. Maybe Win9.Sunday, February 26, 2012 3:19 PM -
I just stumbled on the Windows Desktop UI Concept article, and I was about to create a new thread and I see someone has already beat me to it!
This is actually pretty good. Although I still prefer Aero over Metro, a redesign like this would make Windows 8 a much more consistent experience as the user switches between the desktop and Metro. If they keep the desktop, maybe this will be in Windows 9.

Honestly, I still don't see why we can't just have something like this:
