Azure Files outage and SLA RRS feed

  • Our VMs hosted in East US have lost access to their file shares last Saturday and last Monday night. The Azure Status page indicates there was a network issue throughout Saturday which might have been the culprit, but nothing about Monday.

    Does the Azure Files service provide an SLA?

    Can we get any more information on these two outages? Were they the result of an issue with Azure Files service or perhaps a networking issue?

    Would two VMs in an availability set be effected (as our was)?

    Yes, there was a partial service interruption In East US region on Saturday and that was up and running on the same day.

    For all Internet facing Virtual Machines that have two or more instances deployed in the same Availability Set, we guarantee you will have external connectivity at least 99.95% of the time'. It's Microsoft's commitment, please download Cloud Services, Virtual Machines, and Virtual Network SLA , this document give more detailed information about SLA.

    It was just a partial service interruption and I don’t think both the VM’s in an availability set would have been affected, still will check and let you know.

  • Thanks but I'm a bit confused. What was up and running? Was there an issue with Azure Files or not? We lost access from both VMs in an availability set.
