Site is running fine, but Central Admin is down

Question
-
Hello! I just migrated my MOSS 2007 site on Server 2008 from the SQL Express instance (2005) to the SQL 2008 full instance. Everything worked fine, but I had some problems upgrading the config database. I had to reattach the database, which looks fine in Sql Server Managment Studio, but the Central Admin site won't load and the page says "unknown error." Which isn't really helpful.
Any ideas what the cause/fix for this is?Thanks!

Hi,
Please go to ULs log and event viewer to find more issue about this error.
You can try to run the sharepoint configuration wizard.

Hi Thomas,
Kindly check the following and try the same( possible resolution),
1. In the IIS, check the site and application pool whether central administration status is started. If it is stopped, please start it.
(If the microsoft sharepoint foundation service is started, then you need to check on all the server which you have like WFE,App server. whether central administration in IIS is started or stopped. if stopped. please start it.
2. Then run the sharepoint configuration wizard in your central administration hosted machine.
Repeat the same in all other sharepoint environment. (Note: Only if the microsoft sharepoint web application foundation service is started. Else no need to run the configuration wizard in all the server).
3. Atlast do the iisreset.
I guess the issue might be vanished and you could able to access the central administration without any error.

Hi,
Enable stack trace and provide detail error.
In other way execute configuration wizard once again so that it fixes such issues.
I hope this will help you out.
