Excel Web Access Webpart. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

we have a SharePoint 2013 SP1 server and do not currently have the Office Web Apps deployed.

My colleague would like to display an excel web sheet inside the browser in his site.

We cannot deploy another server for web apps as we do not have the necessary resources.

However I think there was a Excel Web Access web part in SharePoint 2010 which is available under business data. However I do not see this in SharePoint Server 2013, is there a particular site collection feature that needs to be enabled for this or has this been removed and replaced by the office web apps in SharePoint 2013.

  • Hi Francis,

According to your description, my understanding is that you could not find Excel web access web part in SharePoint 2013 SP1.

First, go to Central administration->Application Management->Manage services on server, make sure the Excel Calculation services is started.

Then go back to Application Management->Manage serivce applications, make sure you have created an Excel service application and the status is started.

Application Management->Manage web applications, select the web application that hosts your site collection, click Serivce Connections, make sure you have selected Excel Service Application.

Finally, go to the site collection, make sure "SharePoint Enterprise Site Collection features" at site collection level and "SharePoint Enterprise site features" at site level are activated.

After the above, edit a page, and click Insert to insert a web part, compare the result.
