Legal Agreements for signing Unclassified Driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We want to submit our Virtual Miniport driver to get it digitally signed by Microsoft. We do not want the Logo.

Our miniport driver falls under the category “Unclassified Driver”.

Also we want to update our Verisign Ceritificate.

Can you please let us know the following:

    1. What all legal agreements do we need to sign for getting our driver signed?

    2. What all legal agreements do we need to sign for updating Verisign certificate?

    3. To which email-id should we send the signed agreements?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Greetings,

You may want to contact SYSDEV@MICROSOFT.COM directly to make sure you have all the elements in place.  Even unclassified requires basic WLK/HCK testing if you want it signed by Microsoft.  VeriSign "only" doesn't require Microsoft so no unclassified issue there.  Unless, you are installing for XP, in which case the device class must be WHQL signed if it's a system defined device class (e.g. disk, or keyboard), but ok for custom classes.
