How to access a blob from a SQL Managed Instance (PaaS) or a SQL Database (PaaS)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to access a blob from a SQL Managed Instance (PaaS) or a SQL Database (PaaS)?

We have many SQL queries that need to run on the databases.   What would be the best method to do this,... would this be a three step process:  download document, copy and run query, upload any edited query,...   We are thinking it would be faster to use an IaaS which would a quicker process?   Do we access the blob using the URI from a IaaS which is simply pasting the URI into a browser?   If the browser is not allowed what other method would we recommend?

  • SQL Server integration support for the Microsoft Azure Blob storage service began as a SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 CU2 enhancement, and has been enhanced further with SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2016. I'd recommend checking the following   tutorial which includes all the requested information. Let me know if this helps.
