Multiple Site to Site VPN Connection with DYN DNS Based VPN connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are working to host our Dynamic AX Server in Azure but the challenge that we have is we are using multiple VPN connection between our sites using ISDN ( DYN DNS ) based VPN.This become a show stopper for us to decide whether we go with Azure or some other server hosting provider.

We don't have any leased line based VPN Connection in our network environment and we are 400 users in total. We have approx. 6 sites in which two sites have approx.150 users in each site and rest of users are divided in small sites.

As a security concerns we don't want to access our ERP from internet and this is our business requirement otherwise publishing of Dynamic ERP Will be better option for us.

My question is can we connect multiple RRAS 2012 R2 servers on two different sites to connect with our single AZURE gateway ?

These RRAS 2012 R2 server will use two different ISDN based external Internet IP which keeps changes.

For small sites I think Point to site help us but I am looking for any suitable solution to connect our two main sites with Azure

  • Hi,

According to your description, it seems that multi-site VPN would achieve your requirement.

You can create two local networks and each defines an on-premises address space and the public IP address of a RRAS server. After that, create a virtual network and a dynamic VPN gateway, and then modify the network configuration file.

For more detailed information, please refer to the links below:

Site-to-Site VPN in Azure Virtual Network using Windows Server 2012 Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS)

In addition, if only the public IP addresses of the RRAS servers would be changed, according to this thread, you can edit the VPN device IP addresses.
