Azure AD connect vs Azure AD App registration Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in process of creating new .netcore site.

I am preferring to go with Azure AD Authentication with App regirtation (oidc)

But the IT team saying they prefers Azure AZ connect, to go do Authentication.

Well I din't want to setup Sync and do Form Based Authentication -- if you can share sample  link how to do please share.

I want to understand what are pros and cons using Azure AD App authentication over Azure AD connect.

    Any help Appreciated.

  • Azure AD Connect is the Microsoft tool designed to meet and accomplish your hybrid identity goals.

While Microsoft identity platform (Azure AD App registration 2.0) is an evolution of the Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) developer platform. It allows developers to build applications that sign in all Microsoft identities and get tokens to call Microsoft APIs, such as Microsoft Graph, or APIs that developers have built.

    I think they are different.
