Visual Studio 2010

    Question

  • I am having an issue with Visual Studio 2010, first of all I had to set up a product key to run Visual Studio 2010 with my Microsoft Account. I am running the Visual Studio on a VM machine. I am a student.  I zip   a folder with my project file because I have to send a zipped project file to my instructor. I extracted the zipped file and tried to run the  extracted file by clicking on it and I get an invalid license error need to re-install.

  • You'll need to ask in a Visual Studio forum. This one ios for Visio.

  • Hi sharyl,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Since the question is a license issue, please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. You can also visit the following site for more information and support on licensing issues: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/mplahome.mspx.

  • Hi sharyl_hammer,

    >>I extracted the zipped file and tried to run the  extracted file by clicking on it and I get an invalid license error need to re-install.

Just to make this issue clearly, the license error just appeared when you run your app in VS or open the blank VS IDE? Could you open the VS IDE, and then create a new simple project?

Based on the error messages, like this thread:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2673275/how-do-i-fix-an-invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-required-error-in-visual-c

Please make sure that it is not the license key issue.

Please also install the VS2010 SP1 in your side, and then re-open this project.

But if just the specific project has this issue, please tell me the project type.

    Best Regards,

    Jack
