Kinect2 USB device not recognized on Dell M4800 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using the June 1406

    KinectSDK-v2.0-DevPreview1406-Setup

    1> Fresh Installed Windows 8.1
2> "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Recommendation: Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly."
3> Works fine on another machine Surface tablet. Not on the Monster Dell Precision M4800.
4> Intel Chipset on USB 3.0 host controller Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series USB EHCI
    5> Video Display Adapters: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 & NVIDIA Quadro K1100M
6> Taskmanager only shows a single instance of KinectService running.

Tried removing all the USB devices, reboot and just use the Kinect, the indicator light on the power module stays orange/yellow, whereas when we hook it up to the surface it turns white.

  • Awesome... BIOS has an defaulted option [ ] Enable USB 3.0 Controller which by default is NOT enabled.

    ARGH!

So yeah, definitely needs USB 3.0 support to work.
