How to crop an image using SharpDX Library for Windows 8.1 Metro application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have been trying to implement cropping of an image. I am developing an Windows 8.1 Metro application. My application works like this.

    1) there is a image control in my page which has an image.

2)When I tap on the image , my user control appears and whereever I move my finger(tapped+moved) , the User control starts clipping areas around my finger.

    3) when I release my finger , the User control disappears.

My main aim is to keep cropping very smooth. The cropping should be very performance effective.

    I have tried

1)WriteableBitmapEx library - It seems to be slow for larger images

2)Rectangle.Crop - Not finding success because I dont know how to use it.

    3)BitmapCache - A bit slow .

I heard about DirectX APIs and found this link

I want to implement this into my code! I will know the Xand y position of my tapped area. I need to crop it and assign it to an image source.

    Anyhelp would be appreciated .
