How to create a virtual monitor/display?

I  want to create a virtual  monitor and to extend the desktop to the virtual monitor? How to reach this effect. Where can I find a sample code. Thanks.

This is an extremely difficult and involved task.  If you're just starting in drivers, this is not where you want to start.
