Database Mirroring problem RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    I am facing problem regarding mirroring.

    In our domain we have 2 serversVk-srv-py and Vk-srv-fb. on both only login (vk-srv-user )have the access to login(Which is not Domain account) and on both SQL SERVER enterprise edition is installed.

    Now while setting the mirroring it is giving error as below.TITLE: Database Properties

    The server network address "TCP://Vk-SRV-FB.ZZZZZ.com:7022" can not be reached or does not exist. Check the network address name and that the ports for the local and remote endpoints are operational. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 1418)

  • Can you change it to Domain account and test the same.

  • It looks like the service accounts that your two SQL servers are running as are set to is 'local system' or local service'. Can you change them to domain accounts and retry? You'll need to create logins on each server for the other servers' service account (or use the same one but this isn't generally recommended)

  • As per the error message, you need to grant Connect permission to SQL Server service account i.e.

    GRANT CONNECT ON ENDPOINT::<EndPoint_Name> TO <Service_Account>

    For connectivity issue, please share output of below running from both servers.

    TELNET <servername> <5022 or whichever port sql mirroring is configured on>
    Also, please verify if both endpoints are STARTED.
