Error Opening Razor Source File

    Question

  • I'm opening a .vbhtml razor file and I'm getting the following error.

    The operation could not be completed. Invalid pointer.

    This happens any time I open any .vbhtml razor file. It worked yesterday but not working today. I repaired the install and reset all my visual studio settings to the default. I can right click on the file and open it with the Source Code (Text) Editor however I get no intellisense. The default HTML editor is the one throwing the error. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem?

  • The problem is in Update 1. I ran the uninstall from the command line using "VS2015.1.exe /Uninstall" and that solved the problem. The uninstall took 2 hours on my computer so be patient.

  • I have since discovered that this is related to Update 1 released just in the past week.

    @PaulAtOState,

    If this issue is resolved after you installed the update 1, please make your reply as the answer, so it would be helpful for other members who get the same issue.
