Problem : Shrink prinicipal database RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    i have a question With mirroring . will the shrink log file or Db changes at Principal  automatically reflects the changes at the mirror ?

  • Yes . The logfile changes including SIZE at the principal will reflect on the mirrored server once the logs are transferred.In database mirroring, as the principal server writes the principal database's log buffer to disk, it simultaneously sends that block of log records to the mirror instance.

  • Yes ! the changes should be replicated automatically at Mirrored server ! However there is a KB which provides a workaround if shrink operation is not duplicated on the mirror database ! Please check the below for reference .
